Weddings should be:

Breathtaking
Emotional
Charming
Personal
Beautiful

My name is Jen, and when I told my mom that I was going into the event planning business she quietly giggled, then quickly agreed it was the perfect job for me. When I asked her why she felt so certain, she quickly reminded me about my wedding: the schedules, the deadlines, the itineraries, and mostly the delegated responsibilities that I so grudgingly gave away. Then, with a lift of one eyebrow she turned to me and said, “Babycakes, you have always been like that.”
As a toddler I used to organize my toys by height, color, and size only to reorganize when my parents threw a toy into the mix. Couple that with the constant organizing of my mom’s toy box, the pantry, and you have yourself an organizational guru, age three. When I was five the babysitter pulled my mom outside to witness what had become the spectacle of the neighborhood. I, apparently, controlled the playground. Everyone was given instructions as to what they could play on, for how long, and where they would go next when everyone on the playground would rotate. The hilarious part was, all the “big kids” listened.
It was the gathering of stories like these, successes already experienced, and the knowledge of my comical “habits” that gave me the confidence I needed to guide me through my new adventure.
Today, I would have to say, I am living my dream. Planning weddings and events for the past nine years I have had the opportunity to observe, and in some cases participate, in really exciting moments. Whether it is a wedding between high school sweethearts, a golf tournament to benefit brain tumor research, or a walk that raises funds for cancer survivors, I have experienced several emotions. Some happy, some sad, but all grateful that I was able to make “it” happen. I took on the stress, the details, the organization, so others could focus on the reason the event was occurring. To me, that is the inspiration for this job. That is why I have built my company into what it is today.
Ultimately we are here to make memorable moments happen. Some of the most memorable will be weddings and other special events. Those settings are all about the escape. We escape reality, if only just for a day, to laugh, to dance, to dress up, and spend it with the ones we care most about. Our lives are a constant buzz of busyness and to take one day to forget all the worries and celebrate something special is just priceless. So as the company grows to help more and more people, I plan to never let slide the original intent for its existence, help others enjoy their moment. They are too precious to simply let slip away.
